Arrival
You need to arrive 2 hours prior to your first dive time. During the morning briefing, we’ll explain both your dives and the auction.

You will also receive your auction book. The book details the items up for auction, the travel restrictions, blackout dates and the details about all the diver gear. It also explains the auction order and the rules. Each person also gets a Treasure Hunt Tee shirt and a bag to put your tokens in. You will be briefed on both dives and will start getting ready for dive number 1.

Dive #1 - Hunt Tokens
We dive two groups at the same time. Each group surface swims to a designated hunting area. We will signal the groups when it’s time to descend. If you’re in group (1a) you will search area “a” for 12 minutes. At the same time, group (1b) is searching area “b”. Every one ascends at the same time. Both groups surface swim and switch areas. Group (1a) surface swims to “area b” and group (1b) surface swims to (area a). As you’re switching, we have staff underwater replenishing the tokens. We have different color tokens, naturally the darker ones are harder to find and therefore more valuable. There is no “pooling “tokens.

After your second search is over, you’ll hand your bag to our staff members and they will zip tie it shut. You will dissemble your gear (we have designated areas for each group to leave their gear in the mine). Then go immediately to the “Bonne Terre Bank”. We’ll count your chips and have you sign your “diver’s card”.

Fun in the Sun - Meet Your Gear Representatives
After your tokens are counted, you will exit the mine, above ground we have live music, a few games to play, a huge 60x60 tent to get out of the sun. Several vendors will be there to show off their destinations and their gear. Each vendor will offer an event special discount.

It’s also a great time to trade dive stories with divers from all over the country. You’ll have about 2 ½ hours before your second dive. Plenty of time to research the auction book and start planning on what you want to bid on. You’ll also have an opportunity to meet “NetDoc” the owner of ScubaBoard.

Dive #2 - Hunt More Tokens
There will be at least 2 announcements to prepare you for your second dive. Your group will re-enter the mine and get ready for your second dive. This time, your will search areas (C&D) It’s the exact same process as your morning dives, two groups at a time, surface swimming to different areas, descending on a signal, ascending on a signal and surface swimming as your switch areas.

To ensure the hunt is fair for everyone, we will have staff members underwater replenishing the tokens as you switch. We have pre counted the tokens and separated them for each search team. After your second search is complete, you’ll again hand your bag to a staff member and they will zip tie it shut, just like on the first dive.

You’ll again go to the Bonne Terre Bank. This time after we tally your tokens, you get to keep your diver card. You’ll need to bid on the donated items.

BBQ Dinner - Auction for Treasure
After all the groups are done with their second dive, we host a BBQ. Cheeseburgers, Hotdogs, a couple of side dishes and desert. When everyone is done eating, we’ll start the auction.

You’ll use your tokens to bid on the donated prizes. (No cash allowed) Each winner will be required to take their picture with the product or in front of the company’s banner and sign a marketing release form. The vendors who donated over $30,000 want to use those images on their web sites and for other marketing campaigns.
